Which seems to be the default position these days. I think that I may have to ease up on the figure painting until it gets better.

Second game
Second game against John Hickman using Early Achaemenid Persian. I’m deploying narrowly between the Nile and a village to see what he has…
First contact on turn two.
Centre command disheartened
First game
Against Steve Bainbridge using Early Carthaginian. Photo on turn two. The Libyans are going for it – the Sacred Band are running.
Army packed
And here is the army packed and ready…
I’m quite pleased with the basing. I was running out of old Games Workshop sand (and the new sand is not the same, being sand rather than fine clay) so I didn’t want to run out halfway through. So this is resin from a Brita water filter glued on with PVA glue and then painted with desert sand and dry brushed with bleached bone. The scorched grass clumps add a bit of interest.
Last prep for MK one-dayer
Right, the army is based and painted, terrain is selected (if not yet packed) and army list is printed twice. Just need to check that I have my weather reference sheet.
